    Change of site ownership

    Hello everyone,

To keep everyone in the loop, we recently transferred ownership of this forum over to Vertical Scope. They are now the new owners of SamsungGalaxySForum.com and will look after the hardware and support and overall direction of this site.

Before any of you start to worry, I will remain here as one of the admins. I'm not about to leave this great community we have built on the Galaxy S.

Since the release of the Galaxy S II the site has really taken off. Over 30,000 hits a day and many new member sign ups per day which is great. From a technical point of view this also requires some serious server upgrades and much better hardware than the server we currently run on. (Some of you may have noted the server struggling at times.)
With me handing the reigns over to Vertical Scope, they will use their resources to ensure that all hardware, server backups and 24/7 support is given top priority. This great community can only improve and grow stronger. As for myself, I am free to ensure the forum to focus more on the moderation and admin side of things and not have to worry about the back end and technical up-keeping of this site.

I want to introduce you to YUNG. He will be the new Admin here on the site. His role is to work together with the existing moderators/admins to ensure that the transition is smooth and for the most part, business as usual.

Thank you for your support and lets continue to build the best Galaxy S Forum around!

    Regards,
    Briggs

    Thanks for the intro Briggs,

Glad to meet everyone here. I'm really here to help from a tech standpoint but if other things need my attention, I'm more than happy to lend a hand (if I can). I have heard great things about this community so hopefully, I can help in taking it to the next level along with all of you here.

    Hi clax6,

Yes Yung would have access to build a new application as this is part of the VBulletin when there is a new release. As far as I know (when i last checked) VB hasn't released a new build of their forum android application. But any bug fixes and additions are all down to Vbulletin I'm afraid. They should have a fix soon I would imagine.

Welcome aboard Yung. What sort of improvements if any are we likely to see over the coming months. I'm sure the members of this great forum will have some ideas for you.

    Hi everyone,

    Thanks for your welcome.

In terms of fixes, if you guys have suggestions on what needs our attention, either post them in here and/or send me a PM. This site is already running on vB 4 which is as up to date as it gets. If there are plug ins that you guys think would benefit the community, let me know. One thing to consider is that our team makes security a top priority so if/when we install a plug in, we want to make sure that it won't make us vulnerable to attacks.

Doomed wants to have more than 20 smilies, apparently.

Doomed is a very smiley person.

EDIT: BTW, I don't contribute much, I'm just a crazy fool who wonders if cheese has feelings etc.
I could be wrong, I usually am. (Because it's only a phone)
