    Message issues

    Hello.

New to this forum so a little hello from me! Read some of the guides etc really good website!

Can't compliment the phone enough, so much better than my iPhone 4, there is one little thing which is bugging me however!

When I send a text message, if it's above 3 texts long it seems to be converting itself to an MMS? Is this normal? I've tried finding a solution and the only solution is an SMS app, which I don't particuarly want to use. I get alot of long joke texts which I want to forward to my friends but am unable too without it costing me a bomb in mms!

Is there anyway to sort this?

    Thanks alot.

I think this is normal, its the same on the SGS. Can you not edit the text and send it in multiple parts, a pain but a solution

Interesting. I have never sent an SMS longer than 2 so I never knew that it did what you say :-)

Just a quick question on this - Why the negativity toward using something like the GO SMS app? I've never used it myself as the stock is sufficient for me but most people seem to rave about it so it must be alright. I believe it fixes your issue too just doing a quick Google serch. (note that this problem is not just specific to Samsung but all Android handsets

I use go sms and it is good. Not sure about your problem but it has other good features like sms auto backup and is skinable. its free too.

    So this is normal then?

It's a bit strange because I've read some people don't have the same thing happen to them?

Also, is it possible to have gosms without the notifications coming up from the standard messenger?

I use go SMS and you can set it to split messages longer than so many characters. I don't bother personally but it's a good app and would solve your problem.

Yes you need to disable notifications in the standard messenger.

I'm now using go sms which I rate quite highly, another small but niggly thing though. I've disabled notifications, is there anyway to disable the whole built in messenger all together? If not stop it showing all my unread texts on the icon? It's a small thing but something that annoys me lol.
