    SD card problems

Finally, i can post a thread! Thanks for the guidance for new users.

I have a new Galaxy S (GT I9000). Love it. Except there is a problem with the SD card. The phone goes through a continuous cycle of recognising the external SD card is in place and then notifying me that the card has been unexpectantly removed - all this while the phone is idle and lying flat on the table. This goes for about 48 hours before i am notified that i have to reformat the SD card. I do this and then the whole process starts again. I have used both the SD card supplied with the phone and my own card with the same results.

I have already received one replacement phone and now the new phone is starting the same process. Before i take this phone back i would like to find out if this is a standard problem or if i have just be very unlucky in getting two phones with the same problem?

    Any comments/help?

Doesn't sound like a standard problem to me. If two sd cards have the same effect it could be provider firmware problems.
I could be wrong, I usually am. (Because it's only a phone)

Thanks for the feedback. I have reformatted the card in the phone with no effect.

When i log onto Kies i am advised that there is a new firmware update but i am hesitant to upload this to the phone in the event i add to my problems! My current firmware is 2.1-update 1 (as it reads on the phone) or PDA:JM3/PHONE:JM2/CSC:JM2 (XFM) and i am being invited to upgrade to PDA:JS5/PHONE:JPY/CSC:JS4 (XFM). What say you, take the plunge?! (and if so, do i need to follow all the instructions given by 'Doomed' in the tutorial?)
