    SMS Ringtones

    Hi
Does anybody knows how to assign a new ringtone for sms in GS II.
It will allow you to assign any MP3 as normal ringtones but not for sms. Phone comes with 23 ringtones for SMS and yo can choose anyone of them but not anything elses.

    Thanks
I got a couple of SMS Ringtones that says, You have a SMS, but can't find a way to assign them as SMS Ringtones.

    Thanks
    David

You just need to put the mp3 files into the /media/audio/notifications folder and then when you open the messages app and select notification tone it will appear in the list

One of your applications is a file browser called MyFiles. Open it and navigate to /sdcard/media

if you don't then have and audio folder: create it.

Then inside that create another folder called notifications. put everything you want as tones in the folder. By either copying or moving them there.

The app Ringdroid gives you an option to set anything as a message tone, I'm not 100% sure if it works on the SGS 2, but it's free from the market so could be worth a try?

OK, I had to Chat with ATT to get this:
    Go to Homescreen
Choose Messaging ( make sure it shows ("messaging" at the top, if not hit the back button (the one that looks like an undo at the bottom of the phone)
hold the menu button at the bottom far left
    choose settings
at the bottom of this is "Select ringtone"

WOW!, is that hard to find
