Exclamation Samsung Galaxy S upgrade failed, it cannot boot

    Hi,

    I have a Samsung Galaxy S with Android 2.2.
    I used Kies today.
It proposes to upgrade to a new firmware, I accepted.
The upgrade went about 11% then stopped.
The phone has a white screen.
After 2 hours, I stopped Kies, unplugged the USB cable.
But now I cannot boot the phone.
The phone displays an icon with:
    phone, ! warning sign, computer
What I could do to recover the phone?
    Thanks!

with the phone turned on, pull the battery out. Leave for a while then put battery back in and boot the phone up and see if that has worked.

Not necessarily, if Xiaoyun59 can get into download mode then new firmware could be flashed.

I believe you can also enter download mode without the battery.

Press and keep hold of Vol Down + Power + Home Button While Connecting USB to PC, hopefully should get you download mode.

Kies recovery option should work, but if not, we should be able to get you back to a working phone lol

If you're trying to connect the phone to Kies, while the phone is in download mode then it will not work. Only Odin/Heimdall will make use of download mode (more or less).

Odin/Heimdall is used to flash firmware manually. What Kies does but better.

If you want to update through Kies then, open Kies and just connect the SGS while on and in Kies mode to the pc. Try this first.

If you want to update manually then you need to read the guides on this forum or at Samfirmware.com.
