    flashing.... backup??

is there anyway to backup your apps and userdata when you flash new firmware, as when i flash the new firmware, i lose all my apps, then when i reinstall them i have to reenter all passwords and lose all my saves points on games etc etc.
    many thanks!

    ***** TOP SECRET *****

    There is an app called:

    Titanium Backup

which if you have Root will do what you ask. There are other backup apps in the market but not sure what they are like

If you flashed it yourself, flash voodoo which gives you root access via busybox and super user.

If you didn't, just ignore me.

I used the file CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVO-v3.2-CWM3RFS.zip from post #6 here:

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108

...and then converted to the EXT4 filesystem using the APK CF-Root-ext4-v1.3-Addon.apk found in post #7 of the same thread. Read the start of the thread for how to use the files.

If you get space issues converting /system to EXT4, you'll need to convert a system app to a user app (to make some room) using the full version of Titanium Backup. I picked on Aldiko due to its size.

Well worth it for the speed boost!

Yes, sounds perfectly logical as you're on JVK. Go for it!

    im now successfully rooted
im now backing everything up using titanium backup, however, when i flash to JVO, wont it get rid of all my apps including Titanium backup... so how would titanium backup remember my phone to know what apps and data i had??
    thanks

EDIT: so i dont necessarily need to convert it to EXT4 file system??

When you reinstall Titanium Backup, it will find the folder on your phone (The one named Titanium Backup on phone sd if you want to copy to you PC) then you just restore from the Titanium Backup app

To be honest it's best not to restore any system settings as this may cause problems (App and Game settings should be fine)
