upgrade stops at "get pit for mapping"

was running JVK for a while and decided to downgrade firmware so I could get JVO from kies...... My downgrade failed
phone doesnt start just the pc pic, but I can get into download mode
So I have tried to reflash with the firmware that I had originally. I have all the files so know it works, the blue bar starts to move and then nothing happens for ages, Its got to "DO NOT TURN OF TARGET" then "get pit for mapping"
doesnt seem to be doing anything at the moment just stopped there
It says "set partition" in the top left box of odin

Have you got the partition box ticked, if so do you have the right pit file. What firmware you trying to flash too.

I would pull the cable, restart odin.
Tick Re-Partition and add the correct pit file for the firmware you are flashing plus the other files then flash.

if it still doesn't want to flash, try going for an older firmware; ie:

For JM8 > Tick Re-Partition > Add 512.pit > Add code JM8 to PDA > Add modem JM4 to Phone > Put Phone into download mode > Connect phone and flash.
Then JPY > Add JPY file to PDA > Put Phone into download mode > Connect phone and flash. (No Re-partition ticked, No Pit File, No Phone or CSC File)

yeah got the partition box ticked, flashing with JVK its one that I had on originally. I'm trying that one as I know it worked previously and I'm using the same PIT and settings and everything I used when I flashed it before with this firmware. I have tried older firmwares but will try JM8 now if I can download it, getting frustrated with these download sites where you have to jump through hoops to get a file and then it stops near the end
