Hard shock resistant case like the Otterbox?

I'd love an Otterbox for my SII but I tweeted them and they told me no plans yet for one. To tell you the truth, I love the phone but I actually want it BULKIER! (Prepare for hate!)

When I first tried it out I thought I can't have this phone, I'll snap it in two and nearly went for the iPhone. Glad I didn't now, but what I want is a very rugged case, preferably one that doubles the thickness of the phone and also preferably the entire internal back part containing a high charge battery, now that would be perfect!

I've tried all the usual places like Mobile Fun to no avail... just the Barely There hard case & one other, but I want that bulk so I know it's in my pocket!

Thanks in advance for any replies...

I second the recommendation. I've had my SGSI in a case mate tough for 8 months, the case looks as good as new.

It comes in two parts, a soft gel inner and hard outer. The version for the SGSII seems more expensive though. Mine was £15 even when it was relatively new to the market.

I'm not sure having it too thick with an extra battery would be a good thing. These phones get hot when used for extended periods, such as sat nav use etc., an extra battery out the back may cause it to overheat.

It seems phone development has overtaken battery capability at the moment.
I could be wrong, I usually am. (Because it's only a phone)

Ive used it for hours with one of those silly big batteries and it didnt get unusually hot.
    Looks ridiculous though.

I have a PDAir - thin aluminum case, with internal padding. The screen is still open, but it is a hell of a case for the money (£20?). I like their cases, as I tend to drop my phones a lot - whichever make they happen to be - and it saves them, time after time. Not too affected by heat, either.

It's been more than a year since you posted that, but today I bought Otterbox for my S II--$53 with tax at Sprint, but could have gotten it $4 less at Walmart. Fits the phone nicely, has it's own protective display cover, belt clip that doubles as desktop stand
