Unsurprisingly i've noticed no difference in speed. I'll be phoning them later !!
Bought mine indirectly from phones4u.co.uk on £20pm contract (and £100 for the phone). The only reason I went with T-Mobile was because they said their 3G coverage for my postcode was 'excellent'. I was a bit disappointed to find myself with near dial-up networking speeds. Tried speedtest.net whilst in Cardiff today, but still only got 360Kb download.

Think I shall be speaking to T-Mobile myself tomorrow.

I've been on twice with them. Hasn't made any difference. Gonna phone them later if i get a chance. What we really need is someone with a contract from tmobile themselves to try the speedtest.

I know someone, lives two doors away. Will get him to run it tomorrow.

Spoke to T-Mobile today who assured me 'the phone has sophisticated AI and after a learning period will connect at its maximum speed'. I also believe Elvis is still alive.

I shall phone again tomorrow in the hope of speaking to someone sensible.

I use ip-details , speedtest.net and testmyspeed to check my speed..and the results predicted by the tools and my result is <
    download speed=1.09kbps
    upload speed =0.87kbps
and if i find it to be slow i ll contact my provider informing him about my speed..

Ah so my AI is on the blink...lmao

My query has been passed onto the technical team who supposedly will get back to me, i somehow doubt they will. I asked about what speeds i should expect i was told for 3g it's 384kbps and for HSPDA 1mbps - 4.5 mbps. So at first glance it would appear i'm limited to 3g speeds even though the phone is connected via HSPDA. It'll be interesting to see what speeds your neighbour gets so we can compare a tmobile direct customers speeds with our third party reseller slow speeds.

Tried my phone alongside the other phone (HTC Wildfire), running the test several times - and the HTC was slower each time. How can you tell whether you're connecting HSPDA or 3G?

As an aside I was glad to give the Wildfire back, the SG2 is in a completely different league.

3G will display 3G to the left of the signal strength indicator , it'll display H if connected using HSPDA. Not sure about the wildfire it may display H or possibly 3G+ for HSPDA
