    J3 reverting to old OS

HI my son has a new J3 (UK) and when he turned it on for the first time it did an update and the battery was ok
Now two weeks has past since he bought it and it updated and the battery life is rubbish, luck if it last’s a day
So after great advice on here we did an hard reset today and it has gone from running 6.0.1 to now 5.1.1 and wont update using the update setting in “My device”
Is it just a case of waiting for it to update on its own?
Why has it gone backwards on the OS?
    Thanks

I've never had one do that and didn't think it was even possible!
You could flash it with Odin which would sort it out for sure.

Downgrading the OS with the factory reset? That's not even possible. Try updating with the kies again
