    Battery issue after update

HI My battery is only lasting 12 hours or less with Minimum use after the OS upgrade to 6.0.1
some one has said to do a master reset? is this another name for a hard reset? to solve this problem
My phone goes away for repair in a few days regarding this battery issue but I was just wondering if this was true
    thanks

The tern used is "factory reset" which realigns all files to the default ROM settings.
It should always be done after a major update and also consider that a few days are required after this for the system to re-index itself and settle down.
In short, immediate higher battery use after an update is not uncommon and neither is it a fault.
