    Exclamation People can't hear me on phone - only when they call me - only when using wifi - S4

    Hey guys,
    This problem has been plaguing me for years, finally figured it was time to create a forum topic on it to try and get some help.

    My wife and I both have Samsung Galaxy S4 phones (model number SGH-M919, current android version 4.4.4), and this is a problem with both of our phones.

    Whenever someone calls me, and I answer, 9 out of 10 times they will not be able to hear me (but I can hear them). When I try to hang up, the phone app freezes for 5 - 10 seconds, and sometimes an error message appears saying the application stopped/errored/etc.

    If I call someone they can always hear me just fine.

    This also only happens if I am using wifi for phone calls... if I change the setting to Cellular Preferred, then no problems at all when people call me. We just moved and I don't get that great of a signal out here, so I have to be on the wifi when at home for phone calls.

    Any help/advice is greatly appreciated, thanks!

    Here are a couple things I have tried so far and none of them made a difference:
    * Turned off S Voice
    * Checked and unchecked "Turn off screen during calls"
    * Checked and unchecked "Noise reduction"

    Sounds like whichever app you both are using for voip calls isn't working so good.

    Is there something that I can try? This is a very consistent problem on both of our phones.

    Which app are you using foe wifi/voip calls ?

    As far as I know, its just the standard "Phone" app?

    I booted my phone up in safe mode today, and the problem still happens even in safe mode.

    This must be something that is carrier dependent as I'm not aware of it within the standard phone app.
    Have you tried Google Hangouts https://support.google.com/hangouts/...939354869&rd=1 or Skype?
