Bluetooth has some issues with conneting/disconnecting, any solutions?

Basically, I have a Renault Trafic with a bluetooth kit, and for the past few months when I first get in, the bluetooth syncs ok, then when i get out and back in the van, the bluetooth fails to sync correctly. It will strangely sync and stream music (even though it was synced to the ipod) but if I attempt to connect the phone, it takes ages then connects briefly before disconnecting. If i turn off bluetooth then on again it willl work fine.

I had decided this was possibly an issue with the bluetooth on the van 'handshaking' or whatever it be called. However, we just bought a Mondeo which has bluetooth, and my phone is a constant battle to get it to work, when it syncs and connects, it immediately drops out again, like the van. It also refuses to show a phonebook. But, like the van, if I reset on/off the bluetooth it works ok... I have now concluded it must be an issue with the phone. Is this a known issue? Is there a possible resolution? It's driving me bonkers restarting the bluetooth everytime I enter and exit the vehicle.

you need to say what model, what firmware (in about phone), what baseband and kernel... I had a very similar issue and have cured by rooting phone, now using Darkky's rom, adn then as a superuser removing all bluetooth items in the phone. Ok, now I cannot share/send via Bluetooth, but phone in car problems cured and thats more important ! took me six months to work this out....

i have exactly the same problem with my renault clio with built in tom tom. perfect connection the first time (phone and music). intermittent connection once i leave the car and come back again. sometimes only phone connects, sometimes only music. sometimes neither. and i am in and out of car all day. very annoying.

thanks dw, gone to darkys website and still none the wiser. anyone want to break that down into plain english for me, pls.

edit: 1. my build etc are the same as clarky.

midian - udid not say if you had a rooted phone, or are using a stock samsung firmware... what you need to have is SGS Tools and 'superuser' rights... then you can do the following

Just to clarify again, in case anyone finding similar BT incar problem, I actually deleted EVERY bluetooth listing under SGSTools, advanced, sys apps. Including the drivers - Panicked for a minute as phone froze... but did a battery removal, recovery, wipe sys and dalvik cache, then rebooted (incidentally both sys & voodoo lagfix OFF), and since then phone been behaving... Although no BTooth system entries, turning on on notification bar and off works a treat, and syncs fine....AS I said, no Btooth share, or sending avail, but no problem as sync/copy/move over usb. I thiink this problem stems from Btooth 2.1 going to Btooth 3 in later firmwares...

Dont know what Btooth drivers its using but its working so dont care!

[sigh]. now i know i am in the wrong place as i have no idea what a 'rooted' phone is. so i guess i don't have that, much less superuser rights.

can you point me in the direction of 'rooting made easy' or some such. or does anyone have a fix that is not going to entail me having to learn to read code?

and, wow, thanks for getting back to me so quickly. [sigh].

midian- see this thread at xda developers for easy rooting - but you must know how to connect your phone via USB (not KIES!!!) and to access the internal memory card

    Thanks,

I'll look into that, although is the SGStools you mention of the market? I used to have that but now it is different.

I'm going to lose Bluetooth sharing etc?
