Well I tried everything I could, but the tracker password issue was a "deal breaker" I just couldn't get past it.

I spoke with Samsung Technical (0845 67267864) and they said I had to get it "re flashed" at a Samsung Service Centre. The nearest one to me is Civic Telecom in Bedford (01234 402896)

So that's what happened, all under warranty, the guys there were very knowledgeable and professional. It took them just under 24 hrs, so had to use the "fall back" phone. It's now back as it would be out of the box - software-wise at least and works fine. I just have to reinstall loads of apps and music now.

They also showed me a SGSII which was in for a new screen/glass, it looked really nice except for it having been "run over by a golf buggy" on the 7th fairway.

Nice one! Glad to hear you have it sorted, did they explain what was causing the tracker password issue? Is this a common problem?

No TBH I didn't ask, they just made sure the pattern lock was not on as they couldn't have got past that.
