I am the same, had an iPhone for the last 2 years. I do remember my iPhone wouldn't last a day at the start, then I could get 3 days out of it at the end, not sure if it was a firmware update or faulty phone as I went through 3 of them. This is bad, very bad, you have to get 48 hours from a phone. This phone will not last a day and I am not even using it as a mp3 player yet, just few minutes on the phone and a few texts. You can almost see the battery draining. I have gone through the settings and switched off all the push stuff and ramped everything else down. I have not had a firmware update yet, trying to connect via Mac is killing me.

So the actual time is only about 7 hours with 2-3 hours usage.

Once it's charged to 100%, it almost drop 1% every 15 minutes or so if I don't use it. If I do, then it goes down more. The main thing is Display somewhere between 20%-50% !! Is this normal ???

I have been 1. Killing apps, 2. turn down brightness completely (the phone is too bright for me and i am indoors all day), 3. 3G off, 4. Dark still wallpaper 5. Almost deleted all the widgets except the clock and weather which can only be updated manually. 6. Deleting apps that pop up for no reasons like BBC News (coz' i don't set any automatic updates) 7. Discharging it and re-charging it completely at least 3 times.

Please let me know what else I can do BEFORE I attempt to delete Social Hub and all those useless Samsung Apps (as they keep popping up) ... coz' I am not a computer and Android person and I simply don't understand all those threads iro downloading Titanium and get the phone rooted (?) ...... any suggestion would be appreciated.
Rooting would seriously help but other than that I guess maybe wait for a custom rom that has all that stuff removed for you. Rooting and titanium is really quite easy and then it's simply a case of freezing a few known battery draining things. Worth it for the gains if you ask me.

Also I don't even get 1% every 15 minutes while listening to the loudspeaker streaming radio over wifi.

Ok I updated my firmware and I got 18 hours with just 30 minutes of the audio player, no calls or text. Ouch this is bad.

my battery life is still getting better and better. Currently about 12 hours on battery and still over 90% full. Wifi turned on, and email synching. A few calls and some light mucking around with the phone. Pretty much what I'd expect.

I'm going to run it down so I can see if I can get two full days of light use out of the phone

just to report, my battery life seems to have improved over the last two weeks, I can now get more than a day out of it. Let's say a day and a half optimistically, calling, texting and surfing.

Only on my fourth or fifth power cycle since getting the phone but can get up to two days per full charge. Last one, for example, was 44 hours or so on the 'battery usage' graph when it finally gave up.

I use wi-fi in the evenings at home, have my gmail syncing and use it fairly heavily going to/from work as an mp3 player. Videos get watched, photo's taken and the usual stuff like updating twitter and doing texts to friends. I'm not a heavy user but it still does more than sit on my desk. I turn the phone off when I'm in bed overnight but don't leave it on charge. I power it to full, use it until it's way down in the red and only then give it a full charge with the phone off. I do no top-up charging at all.

I do have the two typical battery killers (wi-fi sharing icons showing a lot of the time and the "cell standby" at a high rate) but I'm still pushing around two days at best and even a full day if doing heavy use. I voted a day and a half as the average of these.

I'm on KE7 (not rooted) and, frankly, and quite impressed for the battery life on a new bit of kit like this.
