    Reliable IM app

Does anybody know of a good reliable IM app?

I have tried Palringo and IM+ and at first, both worked ok but with recent updates, both are failing to stay connected when the phone screen goes off.

I am looking for one that will connect to various accounts and that will remain connected the whole time it's running regardless of whether the phone is awake or asleep.

I'm not using any power saving app while these apps are running so there is no reason for them to disconnect.

If anybody knows of one that is reliable, I would be grateful if you would let me know which one so that I can try it.

My other option is to try every single im app on the market but I don't really want to be downloading them all and uninstalling etc etc. lol.

    Thank you in advance.

Live Profile doesn't connect to various accounts though. I need something that I can use for all my msn, yahoo, aim, google, etc. Live Profile is no good for that.

I use eBuddy, I only have an aim account, but I believe it works with all those others as well.
So far I haven't suffered a disconnection, and it's free!

Thanks Irbik, had forgotten about good old ebuddy. I used to use it on the Desire but ended up changing cos it did start playing up a bit after one of the updates.

I'm using IMO at the moment, it's a beta app but seems reliable so far. Found it yesterday. If it fails, I will install ebuddy and see how it goes. Might well work better on the Galaxy S than it did on the Desire.

    Thanks again

Thanks, that's the version I have installed now. Am still liking imo though but will keep ebuddy on there in case imo stops working at any point.

I'm a big fan of Trillian. It supports all IM platforms and has a very slick interface.
