Smile Extreme TPS Shield Case - XC-TPSi9000CL Photos and review

I walked into the shop where I bought my phone today and I asked them if they had any cases for my phone. I was very surprised to hear yes. So I bought it on the spot. It's an Extreme TPS Shield Case and it's all I need really (although the Zenus cases are very nice looking).

So, it's a soft plastic case that just seems to protect everything besides the screen. Photos below:

You can see in the photos that this is a soft plastic shell that slips on to the phone by stretching it a little to snap into place. It's quite thin and there are cut outs for the speaker, mic, headphone jack, camera lens, lanyard and USB Port. A little strangely, there is only a slightly raised bit of plastic for the on/off button and volume so you are actually pushing the case against the buttons to make them work. However, this is actually fine in practice and although I feel a cutout would have been nicer for those buttons, it doesn't affect performance

You can see in the photo of the side profile that the case is raised by a millimetre or 2 above the screen so some screen protection is there but not much.

The case can be found at http://www.techbuy.com.au/products/1...TPSi9000CL.asp for $10.45 Australian but I can't find it on the manufacturer's website: www.extremeformobile.com or anywhere else outside Australia so others in the world may want to give this one a miss for now.

Hmm interesting, looks like it does the job well but personally never been a fan of these silicone type skins, especially as it offers no real protection for the front.
Certainly a cheaper solution that offers some protection and stops that annoying sliding about everywhere (including out my pocket while driving XD ) Maybe a good temporary solution until other cases become more widely available?

    Thanks for the info

I hear you but after watching this video http://www.it.co.kr/news/mediaitNews...ModeC=4&auth=1 I didn't really think it needed any scratch protection. The Zenus case of course will stop it from smashing at head height and the silicon case probably wouldn't

You know what, I just don't think I'm going to test that out! LOL Nice to see how resiliant it might be but I'm still going to try and look after it like a newborn babe! XD

I watched those videos and I agree the phone doesn't need a screen protector is its glass is pretty much resistant. Unless of course you plan of dropping from above your head height...Or grabbing a knife and testing it on the screen. Both of these instances shouldn't be happening in the real world.
