The battery charges only up to 97%

My battery hasn't charged better than up to 97% so far. Is it going to improve during time? I've had this one for a couple of weeks now. I didn't pay attention how the old battery charged, so I can't compare...

I'm using Battery Doctor to investigate the situation.

    Charge with phone off.

When full, turn off charger, then turn on again.

Repeat until phone shows full straight away when charger turned on.

    See if that helps.
I could be wrong, I usually am. (Because it's only a phone)

When the notification sounds it says full but is really only 97%. If you leave the phone on charge after the full notification comes up it will slowly trickle charge until it reaches 100%.

Not sure if that's the best idea if you do that constantly. Overcharging will decrease the battery life a little more then not overcharging. Whether it's noticeable is another question but try not to do it.

edit: but then could be the same as leaving to charge while off. I know I'll be getting another phone before the battery dies, if/when it does just buy another?

That's what the Battery Doctor suggests too. But it recommends it only a couple of times a month. The battery did reach 100% that way though.

is it an older outlet? or something thats sharing with other electronics? the resistance level is higher near full capacity, its the same reason the first 25% of your battery charges faster than the last 25%. i know when i use my external battery charger, the first 60% happens in an hour, but the next 35% takes a day, and that last 5% takes a whole third day.. (cheap chinese crap)

so i guess i would ask, is your charger good? try another charger that might be it. is there a lack of power from the outlet? spread out too thin with other electronics? or an older plug?

Actually, I use mainly my old 5.7W/890mAh Nokia charger with an adapter. I might as well try to use the original one next time.

In principle, I think it would be quite a waste not to use old chargers since there is such a huge pile of them around here...
