Hi i have just been offered the upgrade through keis so i started and it says failed to start in transfer mode or summit and i have the downloading android icon and do not turn of target on the phone is is right.
I'm not sure what the problem with transfer mode is and to be honest I have never updated through Kies, I find it unreliable.
What version firmware is being offered to you?
Has there been any talk of the JV1 firmware and is this the likely firmware version that will be realeased? I was just checking Samfirmware for any new releases and cannot find a thread regarding JV1.
No update here (from XXJPY)

Cheers MrSkiba, thought that was the case.
I didn't think samsung would release firmware on a sunday.. typically it's mid-week
Sites were saying that Gingerbread was going to be released on the 20/03/11, although now the only info I can find says Mar 2011.
"Samsung Germany has apparently confirmed that the Galaxy S will get an Android 2.3 Gingerbread update in March 2011. The news was revealed at a Samsung blogger event in Frankfurt today, and tweeted out by Frank Feil according to SmartDroid."
The above article was posted in late Feb 2011.
Oh well, not in a rush and still happy with y phone.

I gave them a warning to only make it with one leg, but did they listen, no. So now we have to wait until they have found it![]()
