cant root my phone and it's annoying me

hi all.i had my phone rooted about 6 months ago and then they removed the root option from ryan za's oclf and i tried to root it manually and bricked my phone.i have followed the "root phone for begginers"and done everything to the note but when i try to apply the zip file it says
E signature verification failed,installation abored
what does this mean.i am so unhappy with this phone.
i am putting the zip file into mnt/sdcard which is the root folder,it will not allow me to chose just "sd card" as described in the tutorial
wtf is going on with my phone.i am totally devasted with the galaxy s and it still comes out on top in all the reviews.if ryan za can speed the phone phone up then why cant the idiots at samsung do it

Well, at least you can remain calm.

You need 2e recovery to install unsigned update zip files.

Or flash CF-root with busybox via odin, or voodoo lagfix which also allows you to use busybox & superuser. Or something.

have tried this way aswell and the zip file will not extract{it still extracts as the zip file}
i opened up the file but found no tar file that i had to put into odin.are there any other options i can use

lol easiest way to root? install a custom rom.. takes care of all that extra crap for you.. just saying

right ok i have managed to root it with super one click and ran a benchmark test which has practically doubled the speed.is there anything else or good apps to speed it up even further.any help is good
