Sat nav internal memory.

For my GPS to work properly on my SGS i need to switch on data mode so that google can upload maps to the phone as i travel. So how much memory would my phone need to save UK maps, just like a normal sat nav, so that i could use them offline.

And how much internal memory does a normal sat nav have inside it?

This might sound like a daft question, but I'm just curious guys because i don't know much about them.

Its actually quite small but im not sure google works that way. you may have to download a standalone satnav app.

It is complicated (that is another way to say I do not know ). You can check youself,on your computer install free soft called Mobile Atlas Creator which allows you to download maps for offline use, download & check. It does depend of what type of map and what zoom level you need.

Try NavFree from google play. It's free and you pick the maps you want. If you want UK maps it downloads the entire UK map and stores it on your device.
