Improve Galaxy S GPS lock time with GPS aids

Ok we know that the GPS on our SGS is sometimes really slow getting a lock. I found this application on market called GPS aids. What it does is force download and install the latest GPS+ XTRA location info.

I've been testing it and lock time seems to be greatly improved as the phone know exactly where to look ity seems.

Give it a try if you have really slow GPS lock times.

well im trying it out now.. if nothing else giving my gps aids is payback for all the times its left me stranded

So did it help? I certainly think its much improved now getting a lock. Seems waaaaay faster for me.

Had noticed this on Market but hadn't tried it yet, thanked anyway. My lock seems to be a little quicker, but more importantly Maps had me pointing the right direction.

Currently at indoors watching football and losing a little money!

Well I can say this seems to have fixed my up to 1 minute lock times i had before. My GPS is now working as it should. I highly recommend this application to all SGS owners.

Hi Guys,
I bought my SGS2 just before Christmas and I am new to smartphones! This might now a dump question but do this Apps work worldwide or would I need for Australia different Apps?
Tought I just ask before I go now and by thinks which are find interesting here in this forum!

thanks guys I'm new to smartphones too!! downloded the app... Actual NTP Server: north-america.pool.ntp.org That works only in north america?? I'm in Italy!
