    Hello World

Greetings!!! Im DNA, and Im loving the Galaxy S, even though I dont have one yet...

Actually, Ive been interested in this phone since it was announced, folowing all the reviews etc, There was an instant where I was weighing up whether to get an iphone (3GS or 4) or even the soon to be released Nokia N8, but Im really swayed by the galaxy.

Im currently on 3 and out of contract this month so am definitely gonna probably get an S, ... but Im not sure if I should get the Galaxy on 3 or switch to tmobile/orange or Vodafone?

Can anyone tell me of their experiences on any of these networks, in regards to internet speeds and coverage etc. Any info would be much appreciated!!

I've just done exactly as you're thinking of doing. Switched from 3 to Vodafone and picked up one of these great phones.
God 3 annoy me so much, no idea why I stuck with them so long.
Coverage seems to be good with 2G. 3G, not so good unless outside which I guess is fine as when I'm inside be it work or home I can hook up to the Wifi which works great and is very quick.
Vodafone customer service also seems to be top notch, very helpful friendly staff on the end of the phone that you can actually understand and talk to properly!
I say go for it, doubt you'll regret it!
Friends of mine are on Orange and also don't have a bad word to say about them

Thanks JGS10,! ... Yeah, 3s Customer service is lacking compared to the others, and Im wary of the reps in the stores telling you how great the network is and what wonderful coverage it has, is there any truth to their claims regarding data performance and such though?
Another thing is the allowances that the networks give, apparently fair use for 3 is 1Gb, for Voda, I think also 1Gb, orange is a measly 500 or 750mb and T-mobile is 3gb (on an android phone).
What is 'enough' for a phone like this? Any experiences on the data usage and caps over the various networks?

Phone browsing and PC browsing are very different, you'd have to go some to hit the 1 gb cap on a phone :-) any way you'll probably do most off your phone browsing via wifi which is completely unrelated to your mobile carrier but is your internet providers area instead, if you've got unlimited broadband you can surf on your phone via wifi forever and never worry about extra costs :-)

As for 3g, I'm actually using it now to browse this forum and reply to you so its actually working better than I first thought, guess it depends where in the house I am! So no problems data wise there. Also just been through some html heavy emails and it loaded them up quickly no problems :-) hope this helps. I don't think you'll go wrong with any of the major carriers just go with what you feel its best for you and maybe try and play them off against each other, they all want your money and will fight for it!

will do !! ... and I might just hold off for another month or so to see if the promised firmware update sorts out the reported GPS problems that the SGS is having. Fingers crossed.
