    Need help with Galaxy S firmware!

    When I run Kies, it shows me that a new firmware is available. Here is what it exactly shows in the update window:

    Model Name: GT-I9000
    Current Version: PDA:JPO / PHONE:JPP / CSC:JPO
    Latest Version: PDA:JPY / PHONE:JPY / CSC:JPY

    Does anyone know what this update is?

    This is JPY, otherwise know as Froyo. It's the 2.2 update I'd recommend you flash that firmware straight away, chap!

    Make sure your Samsung's USB settings are set to 'Kies', plug in to your computer and start the download!

    But I already have 2.2 installed on my phone. Aww I see. I have 2.2 but not 2.2.1 if that is it.

    Some say 2.2.1 (JPY) is the fastest firmware.

    You'll have to search for any other differences, as I haven't use JPY stock, only custom ones

    Stock JPY is way better than the previous versions. It fixes a fair few bugs and it's a damned sight quicker

    Also, if you're doing it through Kies, it sets the phone up for future updates OTA (Over The Air).

    It was 2.2.1 firmware. I must say phone does seem alot faster than before. Goots above me was right

    2.2.1 is a cracking upgrade and has transformed my phone... there are a few little differences but it's the speed and smoothness which impresses..
