From the Firmware info you have given I do not recognise it or the codes. are you based in India? If so, to be honest you may have more luck on XDA forums as they have a larger member base.

You could check what the latest firmware for your model phone is at SamMobile.com.

If it's the Galaxy S from a couple of years back then you may want a custom rom.

I can't access youtube (my company blocks it) but any Galaxy flash is the same as any other so if your video is for a Galaxy phone then it'll be OK.

Thanks a lot,the unrooting worked now. I thought that I needed to unroot the mobile, but I really needed to root it. The device was already unrooted, but I need to root it in order to run a screencast app. Sorry about the confusion.

I tried to follow this guide on how to root my Galaxy S, but the update.zip file didn't work. I got "signature error" when trying to install it from the SDcard directory.
Maybe this guide does not work, when the device has been upgraded with 2.3 Gingerbread. Do you know how I can root my device, when it has been upgraded with 2.3 Gingerbread?
