Detailed guide on rooting the Galaxy S

Am I doind something wrong?

When I was with 2.1 i had my galaxy s rooted with lagfix. Since I upgraded to 2.2.1 (which is the ''latest'' I get from London Orange) I didn't want to root my phone or didn't find 2.3 such an upgrade. But now with ICS and my contract ending I would like to experiment a bit with my phone but I can't get it root!.

I have tried this tutorialand i get : ''E: signature verification failed''
Tried oneclickroot with no success ... any ideas?

do i always need to do this rooting thing on my SAMSUNG Galaxy S1 everytime i update my Android OS or reset the settings to default?

You will need to root your device everytime you flash new firmware.

...but usually the ROMs do include the root. So, after the actual first root you don't need to bother. Unless you flash a stock ROM in between.

good morning mates,

I had a huge workload to do on my pc for a couple of hours. After I finished I browsed through the web to see, if something interesting comes up. XXJVU UPDATE for my droid s! So I felt awake enough to download ODIN and a new usb driver. All went well so far. Untill I encountered a major breakdown.... Now my Samsung Galaxy S shows a screen which is new for me, whenever i want to start it. The screen would not change. I tried to hard reset, doesnt work. I tried reboot my droid, doesnt work. Any solution?? The Screen shows the following [ mobile -- yellow attention sign -- computer ] while plugged in with USB.

I have upgraded my Samsung Galaxy I9000 with 3.x.x Honeycomb. Will this unrooting guide work for that Android version?
