    USB suddenly not recognised

    Hi all,

I have had the phone for a while and am generally happy with it, however I had to put the phone into debug mode the other day (which worked fine) but since then I cannot connect to the pc... I dont even hear the 'ding dong' lol.

    I have windows vista 64.

On a plus note I have FINALY got kies to get past the 'cannot run uninstaller' lol so have kies but cannot connect... hmmm.

I'm pretty sure I have done something daft but can't for the life of me think what! any help would be great!

    Thanks

My USB ports like to work when they feel like it. Some days they can only be slightly bothered and pretend their USB1 ports. I would say be kind to your USB ports and make them feel wanted. They might start working then.

If the above isn't to your liking, although true in parts, then try removing the usb drivers and re-installing. Try different USB ports. Kies will not work while in USB Debug mode.

When I had trouble with connecting in the usual way, having the phone in debug mode and connecting to Odin still worked. Joking aside sometimes it's just a matter of time. My PC honestly thinks I have USB1 ports sometimes when hooking up my SGS, also says that it has found new hardware but used it for last 3 months.

Have you tried something else in your computers USB ports and see if that works.

Try re-installing the driver software from microsoft then re-install the drivers for the Galaxy S

Maybe stupid but have you tried a different cable, as the one your using could be damaged

I find that plugging into usb and while plugged in then turn phone off then on (leaving cable in). Usualy sorts mine out. Thany or use a nojkia supplied micro usb as i have never had problems with that one lol
