    Force closing

Ok i did the froyo thing following Goots instructions. Great
I also did the one click lag fix and the root thingy.
LAst couple of days i am getting what I pressume is a force close when im on the net.
It vibrates once. Locks up then about 10 seconds later vibrates twice and then goes back to my homescreen.
I recently did my update with Lp and thinkiing it could be that I switched back to the previous version. Do I need to totally uninstall the updated version?

Also, my swype has gone shit. First letter of the second word always goes capital and the prediction is crap. It will make the same mistake over and over and seems jerky.
    Any ideas on both?
    thanks

2.2.1 is available so why not just flash instead as this would sort out your problems

have i got to go through the whole goots process again but using different files?

I only just had enough confidence to do it last time with step by step instructions.

If i do as well what is the best way to back up my data as it took me forever to set up the phone again

    Thanks

I am having the same problem as panlid. Nearly every day when I log into Facebook it comes up with Facebook user instead of the person's name & when I click on their status it vibrates once or twice, the screen goes black & then I get the error message 'The application Facebook has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again - Force Close'
Unfortunately I am not technically minded so the responses above don't mean a thing to me. I would be very grateful if someone could explain step-by-step what I need to do to correct this.
    Thanks in advance :-)

The above responses basically say that you need to read Goots' guide on flashing new firmware. Explaining the whole process would be pointless as the information you need is contained within Goots' guide. Go to the main page on this forum and click either:

    Galaxy S: Android Development
    or
    Galaxy S2: Android Development

Depending on which device that you have.

I don't think you have the same problem as Panlid as he doesn't mention Facebook. Your problem is with viewing facebook and not a problem with the actual phone force closing whenever it feels like.

How are you viewing Facebook? Using the internet browser or the app on your phone.

Thanks for the info, I'll have a look & get my son to help me

I'm viewing Facebook on the phone app, haven't tried with the internet browser. Maybe I should try deleting & reinstalling the app?
