For which provider are you talking about. Also for some people Froyo has been available for about 5 weeks.

I take for granted you are referring to T-Mobile?

JPO is the latest Official upgrade for the SGS.

    More colourful
    Slightly faster
Screenshots (hold down back button and then home button)
    Flash 10.1

Have you still got network provider software on the phone?
For me the phone was more responsive and not so laggy. If you are pretty speedy when using the phone, like texting or switching between many apps you'll notice the difference.

Camera quality seemed to improve (not sure if that's the phone or just me eyesight!)

All very well if you can actually get the 'phone to connect to Kies. Looks like no upgrade for me, as mine won't connect to Kies.

You only need Kies if you want to offically update your phone. People have been offered JPY through Kies as they have reg hacked their Kies.

If you cannot connect rhough Kies then you should use Odin to update. Check out the firmware section and there is a thread on how to upgrade to Froyo from Eclair.
