    Galaxy S really slow

Hi i bought a Galaxy S on the understanding it was the fastest phone on the market and beat others hands down. However the phone freezes constantly, push e-mails are tempremental and the phone takes an absolute age to load anything up. I had a Blackberry previously which was perfect. I have installed an app killer and use this frequently. I have also set up e-mail push for every 30 minutes and i'm lucky if that works.

    Please can someone help me.

Hi there, you may need to do a hard reset, this sorts most problems out. Make sure you back up all your important stuff first. You will also need to make sure you can use the 3 button combo mode, volume up, home key and power button. Keep all pressed untill you see the boot screen then release the power button, when phone gets to a screen with lots of coloured text release the other buttons. look for data wipe/factory reset, use the volume up/down to select data wipe/factory reset and the home key to ok the selection.

If you can't get the 3 button combo to work there is a very good guide by Goots on here.

The SGS is a fast phone, but the firmware that the phone came with may be restricting it's capabilities. To find out what firmware you are on, go to the dial pad and type in *#1234#. Write down what you see and post it back here.

I was on SGS Orange Eclair 2.1, the Orange firmware in combination with Eclair (2.1) was causing my phone to slow down and even restart at times. I did a factory reset and cleared the memory cache, nothing worked apart from upgrading to 2.2.
