dolphin browser hd was my favorite browser by far, its a bit laggy here and there, and not quite as fast as the default browser when it comes to web browsing, but what it lacks it makes up for in customization, desktop/mobile/android/iphone view toggle, add ons, and even built in spell check and google translate. sadly its only flaw is that its laggy. think of this as the firefox of android webbrowsers.
well ladies and gentlemen, i present to you dolphon broser mini!!! think of this as google chrome for your android browsing. tabs open and close instantly, it supports add-ons and most impressive of all, the speed is like what opera mobile did for flip phones. its insane. i always use animefreak.tv for my speed tests, its a really large page, with flash, java, pictures, and a ton of text.

when you first look at the interface, itll remind you ALOT of google chromes tabs, actually almost 100% look alike, which isnt a bad thing, google chrome has a good thing going. dolphon browser mini is still in its beta 2 stage, but its already my best browser. it supports gestures, and a few other built in add-ons, such as desktop toggle, private viewing, and screencut screenshots, their text selection method, and just overall interface is really something to marvel at. i HIGHLY recommend this browser!!

Not a bad little program, looks ok but the only bit I do like is that it is quick.

Question, how do you set the homepage?

ps. I've found the option to change it, but the ok button greys out when you change any part of it?

hmm, it definitely is missing alot of options, its also missing the option to turn flash and javascript off, i dont think you can change the homepage, just remove it. remember this is only a beta version, its just a very well built beta version, hopefully the next beta/real release will add these features in.

go to a website on your default browser, and try to switch to desktop mode, or better yet switch back to android from mobile, the default browser doesnt allow this. try to download something using the default browser, you cant, the default browser is VERY selective on what it will let you download. visit megaupload, multiupload, or any one of the hundreds of file hosting sites out there, the default browser wont download from these sites, instead you get an error, or 'memory full' or worse it wont even give you an error, it will just cease to download, this means you cant download apps directly from your phone, you NEED computer, same goes for video files, mp3s, or any other download. visit a page in another language, youre stuck because your default browser doesnt have a built in translator. what you see is what you get, and its very limited. with browsers like dolphin, you can have add-ons like in your desktop's google chrome, or firefox. and of course, this browser is much faster at loading webpages, which is what it really all comes down to. ahem! which ends my rant and leads me to my top 3

1 snappiness (browsing speed, tab and menu response)
2 usability (can the browser actually be used to download content? install apps directly from downloads, does it have both desktop and mobile views?, ect)
3 options (does the browser have extensions, or add-ons? something like this will allow me to use a built in proxy, custom skins, and themes, this will also open a window for users making their own fix for small problems they see, instead of always relying on the dev.

ps i hate how the default browser has to have its own brightness, if my batterys low i want all my apps on dim, if its high i want them all bright, the browser wants to have a mind of its own wth.. and how it dims itself when you enter menus.. you know if youre outside its impossible to actually see the screen if its dim, so i can see the default browser until i actually enter a menu, then i have to hold my hand over the top of the screen and turn away from the sun.. what a horrible design.

I was just asking. I've never had an issue with viewing things outside or not really noticed self control of brightness. Snappiness yes, i did like that, but it still felt cluttered and not to fussed about modding the viewer to look different. Just want a full page viewer, allows me to download, copy/paste text etc. It's quicker enough and I can switch between tabs with a full page view of each one.

It's promising, but the homepage was no go. Will try later when there have been updates for the app. Thanks for the post though.
