Contacts in SPB format - This File Format Cannot be Transferred

    Hey.
I just updated Kies, and did a firmware upgrade on my Galaxy S. After the upgrades I restored my device to factory settings. I had 3 previous SPB files with my contacts saved, so I did not see the need to save them again prior to the upgrde.

None of the files can be synced or transferred or restored. I get the warning "This File Format Cannot be Transferred" when I hit the appropriate button.

I've tried it on my computer and laptop, with the old version of Kies and the new version.

    Can anyone help?

    Peace,

    Micheál

    from xda-developers:

    1. open Kies
    2. open your last saved *.spb file
    3. save the file again as *. vcf manually in the file name area
    4. go to were normally saved spb files ( C:\Users\ _\Documents\samsung\Kies\PIMS)
    5. you will find all the contacts saved as vcf file.
    6. select all contacts and copy them in a directory (contacts)
    7. connect your samsong to the pc and copy the directory (contacts) in to the sd card
    8. disconect your samsung
    9. select the contact icon
    10. from the left key press and select import contact from sd

I think this is only for the Chinese knock off phones and won't work on our SGS
