    Hi Goots!!
I'm sorry I meant I flashed it to JM8. That step went on smoothly. But when I tried to flash Froyo, it wasn't happening.
Anyways, thanks in advance for the help!!
    Waiting for your post..

Well apparently the firmware for India is the standard Asian one (JPD) WHICH IS HERE (password = "samfirmware.com"), but I have no idea what CSC you would use.

It extracts to a single file called JPE_U.tar and you flash this as your PDA file in Odin. I am assuming you are supposed to keep the CSC that was originally on your phone.

Well any fields you leave blank in Odin will just leave whatever you already have on the phone untouched. It is possible that the firmware you are downloading now contains PDA and PHONE elements, but Odin will sort that out.

I wish you had read the instructions on the tutorial about it being for UK/Europe only before flashing though. I hope it goes well. Let us know.

Great news!! It worked.. But the problem is that the default language was chinese. I had a bit of trouble to figure out where I could change the language. And also I didn't know any of the crap that I had to fill in during the first start up as it was all in chinese. Anyways, I'm happy I have Froyo now.
Complete with Flash 10.1 and everything.
    Thanks a lot Goots!!

I don't have WiFi right now. So can't test all the features. I still seem to have the GPS problem as the device still doesn't lock. Anyways, I will have to investigate into that.

Thanks for the guide, as a noobie can someone help with the following:
Will it work with my existing firmware:
    PDA:I9000BVJM5
    PHONE: I9000BVJM1
    CSC:I9000ORAJM3

Also when I unzip some of the downloaded files i get '.tar.md5' files rather than '.tar' files. Do I use the .tar.md5 files for odin.

    Thanks
