hmmm, i guess it depends on how much you want to unlock your phone? lol
Im an ODIN novice to be honest, the man to contact on the forum regarding a flashback to JM1 would be "goots". Tell him your situation, that you want to unlock your phone, need to get back to JM1, he may know how to unlock at froyo level.
This is his profile;

Good luck dude.

hey pidz.. thanks . i asked goots, but he said hey don't have much to say about unlocking...
can i use odin to go back to eclair.. and then unlock my phone.. is their any risk-free tutorial for this... ? i'll be thankful to u..
Hey yogesh,
Nothing is risk-free unfortunatly. You could in the unlikely event brick your phone.
This is a method which a guy did when the reg-hacks for froyo originally came out to get back to JM1;

I have very little experience with ODIN and firmware flashing to be honest, you will probably have to get the files off http://www.samfirmware.com/ and pretty much do what the guy has done.
Good luck.

hey pidz, wassup?
finally i unlocked my phone on froyo.. following this steps.
thanks to helroz and risolo .
my imei is same as before.. !!!You will need root and busybox
Download repair_nv_data.zip from this thread
1) Copy the EFS folder with Root Explorer or ADB to back up
(in super manager goto settings and check "show hidden files")
2) In /efs, delete:
nv_data.bin.md5
.nv_data.bak
.nv_data.bak.md5
nv_data.JPC (you may not have this)
nv_data.JPC.md5 (you may not have this)
.nv2.bak
.nv2.bak.md5
3) Reboot your phone and navigate to /efs to see if nv_data.bin.md5 is created. If it is, you are good to go. If you go there right after the phone boots, it may not have been created yet.
4) Put your phone in USB debug mode and connect via USB to computer.
5) Run step 2.bat (this will extract nv_data.bin to your computer)
6) Run reparation_nv_data.jar (I guess you just enter any 8 digit number in the boxes that will be your unlock code. I had entered '00000000' and SGS unlock couldn't find anything afterward, so I'm not sure if this number will be needed at any point in the future. This will edit the nv_data.bin).
7) Run Step 4.bat (this will upload the files to your phone. Make sure the phone is on and when you run it, make sure to keep pressing 'allow' so the program has root access to push the files to your root).
8) After this is done, you can answer 'n' if there were no errors and it should reboot your phone. Phone should be unlocked.
Check network lock code *#7465625# (everything should be off)
Check Imei *#06#
Hope this will help others.
Enjoy

HI Guys,
I am new to the Android World. I got SGS loacked to Orange Network. I unlocked it through one of the threads on XDA. Now I want to install Froyo 2.2 Android on my phone. Can anyone help me with the process to be followed? I tried through Keis and now my phone firmware is 2.1 Update 1.
Looking forward for your inputs. Many Thanks in Advance
Cheers

Try this dude; Worked with a guy for froyo so, hopefully you dont have to downgrade to JM1 as the guide previously said.
Helroz Method
Make sure to make backups of your efs.
Good luck.
