Thread: Updating from JPM to JPO

    Unhappy Updating from JPM to JPO

    Is there definitely no way of updating through Kies to the newest official firmware?
    Iv tried repeatedly to reg hack, although for some reason test mode does not work I can get it to show my phone as being JM2 on the Firmware update screen. Just says no update available

    EDIT. Resolved. Flashed back to JM1 then applied this reg hack

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies\DeviceDB\4]
    "SoftwareRevision"="I9000XXJF3/I9000OXAJF3/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3"
    "ProductCode"="GT-I9000HKDXEU"
    "HIDSWVER"="I9000XXJF3/I9000OXAJF3/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3"
    "DEVCONINFO"="MN(GT-I9000);VER(I9000XXJF3/I9000OXAJF3/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3);HIDVER(I9000XXJF3/I9000OXAJF3/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3);PRD(GT-I9000HKDXEU);SN();IMEI(enter your imei here);PN( );CON(AT,MTP,MTP);LOCK(FALSE);SDP(CACHE)#OK#OK"

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies\]

    But either way, you are still stuck with going to JM8 > JPO.

    It might be that your service provider hasn't released a firmware upgrade yet. I've only seen unbranded phones and T-Mobile phones getting the updates, nothing from the other network providers. Anyone seen an upgrade from o2 yet ?

    The passwords are at the bottom of the list where you downloaded it from , it's usually something like "samfirmware" or "samfirmware.com", but that version doesn't include the XEU CSC anyway. Check the main thread on the FroYo update to find links to the right files if you're in the UK.

    Dial *#06# to get your IMEI and write it down carefully.

    Then dial *#272*IMEI# (replace the IMEI with your actual 15 digit IMEI that you just wrote down) and you should be offered a list of CSC's. Click on XEU then click install.

    It will reboot the phone and you will need to re-set up any accounts and stuff.
