    hey guys! froyo?

    so i been away for a hecka long time, but i been hearing tons of things about froyo, the way i hear it tho it sounds like you NEED kies, and you cant just flash a rom, is this true? my phone hit old age or something, things on it are just constantly failing to work, like videos, pictures, the browser is so buggy now, no idea whats been causing this, but im sure a nice flash would fix all this. so since froyo is out, of course id be wanting to flash that! whats the best froyo out, and what froyos are available to download from the net? i live in the USA, so i doubt samsung would send out a kies update, since i have the european model. has anyone uploaded a RomManager backup of the newest froyo? that would be an easy way to give it to ppl who dont live in the uk. i been searching around, but i cant really find a straight answer, whos got teh down low on froyo?

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    alright, so i have JPO, when i flashed it, alot of things transfered over, like launcher pro was still my default launcher, alot of my apps were still here. many broken, but still in tact, they just force close when you click them, i had to reinstall them, very strange. having flash in the browser is nice, its something ive been looking forward to. it feels like it hangs up here and there. GPS is the same, wish it was as good as i8910, i tested it inside my house, no actual driving, but the best it can do is find me within 10000 feet, it did actually narrow it down to 100 feet accurately after 2 minutes tho. LOVE the new gmail, i emailed myself an app, and it actually now gives me the option to INSTALL, not just PREVIEW anymore. and selecting text is much easier in froyo. alot of my old apps dont work, but thats not froyos fault, its the app developers fault. rooting was easy, and Titanium Backup's always broken "Problem?" button finally does something when you click it, so good news there.
    tried the custom RAM Kernel i found here, it gave me around 50 more mb of ram, didnt really feel any difference tho. and definitely didnt see the 300+ ram it promised me. for as base rom its really great, not alot of work needed, but of course im still anxious to amp it up anyway.
    *1500 in benchmark pi, no fix's / tweaks
    *update
    kay so i updated to JPA, and actually i like it better, JPO has an issue with text, the slide curser cant find text anywhere other than the top row, but JPA fixed this. and for anyone having problems with this, to flash JPA or JPO you gotta flash from 2.1, flashing from a 2.2 rom wont work. task killers dont kill music, and im still unable to find a way to turn off GPS when using the camera.
    Welcome back
    Just wonder how soon will there be any lagfix for the new Froyo? I never used ay lagfixes till recently when I did voodoo on my JPM and I must say that I am quite surprize by the difference it makes in the way my phone works. Interface does look like it is twice as fast, so I think from now on I will be addicted to lagfixes
    As for flashing the boys are right, stick to Odin - I tried Kies just once and it did mess up my phone completely, so I will avoid it from now on
    If you want lagfix, I'd suggest you THIS
    This kernel has lagfix, overclock, more ram (will show about 200 free RAM) and many other things. Flash it with Odin in the PDA field without repartition.
    The lagfix must be enabled It is included in this kernel, but must be enabled from the recovery menu.
    P.S. It doesn't show 340 RAM as AVAILABLE. It increases the overall memory from 304 to 340, so the available memory will increase by 36.
