Bluetooth "Paired but not connected"

Hi All,
I'm new to this forum and especially new to the smartphone world as the Samsung Galaxy is my very first.
I'm having problems with the bluetooth: I can see devices, pair to them but then the phone says it's "paired but not connected" and doesn't give me any option to do that (at least nothing I can see). I've tried already with my old nokia and my car's phone system and they both pair without issue but then nothing else happens. Am I missing something?

Welcome to the forum and Galaxy S.
I have a headset which does the same, but only connects when needed, i.e when i make a call or receive one. As long as both devices bluetooth are active and paired, they will connect when necessary, i think you can force connect them but unsure.
Hope that helps. try to make a call and check to see if they connect.

Don't know about the phone-to-phone bluetooth connection (will check later when I have both phones at hand) but when connecting to the car shouldn't "just" pair. My car's bluetooth should "take possession" of the SIM and from then everything gets handled by the car itself (calls, phonebook,TXTs, etc). If it just pairs it won't allow to perform its normal functions.

I have a bluetooth issue were i cannot delete from the devices found list on the handset.
If i search for a device and find a device its stored on the list and cannot be removed.
Does this happen to anyone else or does anyone know how to delete them?
Tried holding down the device on the list but does not give an option to delete.

I can unpair with long press but i cannot deletethe entry from the list.

I unpaired one device, and when I pressed "scan devices", it disappeared. Try it!

Tried this and you are right list is now empty. Nice one DS a great help my friend.
