I think there is an optoin in one of the tabs in KIES that says 'Install Drivers' or something like that, failing that if you want you can PM me an email and I'll send them to you

Can't upload them on here as they are too big but they work everytime for me.

    Totally confused!
Install it back. That way you get the drivers needed.

    Hi guys
I recently bought a Samsung galaxy S2 and have a similar problem, my windows XP -32 bit is not detecting it.
I have tried the steps mentioned above (provided by Goots),but i still see no success.
After installing Kies,i plugged in my phone.
My Device manager shows my phone as a new USB device under other devices with yellow question marks.
ON right-clicking and checking properties in device manger --i see error message as "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)" .
I also observe after installing Kies,in the ProgramFiles\Samsung\USB Drivers folder many drivers named as
    01_Simmental
    02_Siberian
    ..,
    ..
going on till 25_escape. But i see some numbers missing like after "09_Hsp" i see "11_HSP_Plus_Default" and after that i see "16_Shrewsbury" .No 12,13,14,15.
Did i miss some driver files when i installed Kies, which is resulting in this issue? Please suggest

I may I found a solution...It is been working for 2 hours yet...so far so good....but I will still give you some follow up in the next day: What I have done is simple: remove the battery from the Galaxy S2, wait 3 minutes and that's it!!

I was having this problem with every computer so the problem was definitely the phone. Tell me if it works for you!!

    Thank you

    Phone: T-Mobile T989 Samsung Galaxy S2 (Rooted)

After countless hours researching the net for an answer, I grew tired and frustrated of such a simple task. Why wont my PC recognize my phone. It has in the past with no issues whatsoever. I searched high and low only to return to the same answer:

"Re-install the drivers" "Reboot your machine" "Re-install Kies" and my favorite "Turn USB debugging off"

Blah, blah, blah...the same result.....no USB option in my drop-down menu when I connect to my PC via USB. The charging feature worked just fine, but that darn option wont pop up.

Well, after an hour with T-Mobile, they finally gave me the number to Samsung's upper level tech support. Gave them a call and bless this sweet lady's heart name Grace. Within 20 minutes, voila....USB working perfectly. Here is how my smile turned upside down.

    1. Settings --> Wireless and network --> USB utilities

    2. Click on "Connect storage to PC"

    3. Wait 3 seconds and then connect your phone via USB cable (VITAL POINT)

I was hopeless until the call to Grace with Samsung. Hope this saves hours of frustration on everyone's part. Let me know if this works for you. I really hope I'm not the only one.
