sigh.. is our phone slow?

i just went to bestbuy, and was checking out the EVO.. the EVO's internet loads pages over twice as fast as the galaxy and the EVO was only using 3G.. and my galaxy had java turned off, and the EVO had everything on flash, java.. both phones had full bars.. and thats the sprint demo version, with all the sprint crap, my phone has the NAND mod, setCPU, custom firmware, and all that.. and the store demo blew it away.. i downloaded pi benchmark and neocore, neocore was 53 fps vs the evos 25, no surprise, but pi benchmark was 2600 vs evos 2700, not too big of a difference, and again i got all these mods to speed up my phone.. i cant even imagion how fast it would be if it had all those same mods, even loading apps and pages was faster, i tried all the apps both phones had and the evo won at most..
is my phone slow or bogged down? or is the evo just really that much better..

It was probably using wifi or 4G.

It is really hard to say. Could it be the pages you test on EVO has already been visited and cached and you are browsing the same page first time on SGS? Could it be the demo EVO has only minimum things running at the background while your SGS is running email checking, weather, news.....etc?

Doesn't sound right, our phone is faster than a Evo. Must have been cached pages or something like tiptronic's comment.

On paper the SGS is faster. Check this youtube video, it tests the SGS against the EVO, launching some apps etc.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMjP4jUfcro
I think, if you're just launching apps etc. the SGS is about as fast as the EVO, sometimes a little faster, sometimes a bit slower.
Let's hope Samsung optimizes their firmware when they release the Froyo update.

Its down to optimizations I think in the firmware. But hands down in any hardware accelerated 3D game or app the SGS will just kick the Evo...2 to 3 times faster that PowerVR 540 GPU.
