I've got my galaxy S on order, patiently awaiting. So I haven't used this yet with the sgs, but he appears to support it now. You can even use the portable install on a USB stick or I guess the phones memory stick so you can run it anywhere. They deserve some donations! I've found it to be an excellent alternative to sony's pc suite which wasn't that bad. It at least did what it said it should do, albeit not very smoothly.

Would like to hear how people here get on with it, while I eagerly await delivery of my own handset!

So I've seen the various bad press about the management software and it reminds me of my experience with LGs pc suite. The software didn't achieve anything at all, version 2 was the first one I got. Then they upgraded the version number to 3 and it basically didn't improve things whatsoever. It's like the version upgrade was basically just a skin change. Unbelievable how they weren't too embarrassed to release it.

For those of you still looking, I managed to find a work-around to using Samsung Kies to transfer files etc. to your phone. I found a way to do this within Windows Explorer itself, using no third-party software - it's just a matter of digging the drivers out of the Kies program. Granted, it's only really useful for transferring files and won't provide all of the other features that Kies provides, if that's all you want to do (as in my case) then it saves installing Kies which IMO is a dreadful piece of software. Here's the link to my guide:

I'll probably upload this elsewhere if there's enough interest. Cheers!
