I would be very grateful for some advice before I send my brand new Galaxy S ( GT-I9000) back to T Mobile.
I have tried to connect the phone to both my Dell laptop and Samsung notebook, both running Windows 7. ( have formatted both int and ext SD cards in device)
a) if I connect the phone as Mass Storage the 2 new drives are recognized and assigned letters but it looks like they are recognized as card readers ( ie waiting for a card to be placed in) rather than hard drives. In essence the Device Manager shows them as hard drives but otherwise I am not able to use them.( ie Read/ write)
Any attempt to place files on them prompts a message : please insert card in drive G, F.etc
b) if I connect as Kies, with or without Kies started ( have Kies latest vs by Samsung automatic download) again two things happen:
- in Kies I have been able to copy to the SC card a few files after which Kies stalled and stalled it stayed ever after..
- without Kies running the int and ext cards ARE fully recognized as drives and I can read their content and SOMETIME write on them. I have not been able to copy photo/music files on them as it stalls whenever it pleases...sometimes I get a message saying : your file will be copied but may not be able to be read by the device which is c..p as these are simple jpg and mp3 files..
The problem is identical on both Dell laptop ( Windows 7 Home) and the Samsung (!) notebook N110 ( Windows 7 Starter)
Both above work with no problems with the same SD cards in my Nokia 5800 Express Music and Ovi.
So at the moment I am not able to transfer files between this phone and any of my laptop and notebook.
Sorry for long text but I cannot believe that both my PCs are wrong and Samsung is right..if anybody experienced same problem I would be extremely grateful for some guidance, many thanks
