go to samfirmware but you need to register. Go to the firmware section and then look for flash programs odin 1.3 is there.

Hi .

I went to the samfirmware site and registratet me an account.

When I enter the firmware section I found Odin 1.3 and downloaded it.
Regarding my firmware. On my phone firmware version it is 2.1 -update 1. I9000XXJM1 , build number ECLAIR.XWJM2.

I cant find the firmware version 2.1 -update 1. I9000XXJM1 ?? If I am to re-flash my phone to this state again, where can I find this firmware version??

If you install ROM Manager from the marketplace it lets you back up your current ROM. DO that before flashing anything and you have a backup of your ROM exactly as it is now.

Okay Thanks a lot. I downloaded it with no probs. I was concerned that the app was not avaiable in my countrys app market.
Is it true that i can't make a backup of my current rom until i have rooted the phone? Because i tried it and it said there was an error.

Ah yeah sorry, you do need to be rooted. I'd forgotten about that. Sorry.

It's easy enough to root the phone though, just download RyanZA'a one click lag fix from the market. It includes a rooting function.

One click lag fix just made my phone so much faster as well. You might want to try it. Scary the first time you use it but the phone flies!
