Has anyone tried GPS Aids? Supposedly it speeds up the SGS to get a location by forcing the phone to download new LTO. Some people have claimed to see huge difference.

Thanks Briggs, I found your post. I tried it out and noticed a slight improvement, but overall my GPS performance has been very good after I made a few tweaks in the GPS menu via *#*#3214789650#*#*

Apparently the creator of GPS Aids is working on implementing many of the features of GPS test into his app.

Yes, Co-Pilot 8 does work on the SGS2 - I have it on mine, along with Sygic Aura.

I have (of course) used both applications, but find Sygic Aura the better of the two - the voices are better, I don't seem to get as many weird instructions and the software is ultra smooth on the Galaxy S / S II.

I hope not - I just bought it

Actually, there is no mention anywhere of any limit on the license lifetime so I really don't think it is yearly. The traffic info subscription is clearly labelled "1 year" so they know the concept. Plus, it's 29 euros, so slightly cheaper than £29.

I think they tend to leave the license locked to a particular product version so you can keep using it as long as you stick to the "GPS Navigation" product. Of course, in a few years time they might release a new, better product that you can pay to upgrade to... or suffer the slow death of map irrelevance with the old product.

Sygic is available as a 7 day trial on the market, so I assume you can try it out.

Sygic +1. Haven't had any problem with it! Installed it, downloaded maps from build in map downloader. Works like a unicorn running over the rainbow.
