That should be neat for the people who only update via kies.. Some of us have been impatient and gone on our own though, so not too big a deal.

The bad points of which lagfix? I don't know of any bad points of lagfixes, as they increase speed, and decrease wear&tear on the disk itself because of less writing.

I see... i was just kinda not sure if to go ahead and apply it... i mean if i was to root & lagfix, what would happen when the time comes to upgrade to froyo... what happens then ? side affects ?

Just dont wanna see "Unable to upgrade to froyo due to bla bla bla"

You need to remove the lagfix before applying the FroYo update, but that is easy if you use something like RYANZA'S ONE CLICK LAG FIX v2, because it includes a function to reverse everything it has done

Not holding my breath for 31/10 after chatting with the UK Samsung support line last week and the chappy saying sometime between the end of september and december....call me pessimistic but i suspect most sgs users will be hoping for frozen yoghurt as an xmas prezzie.

Had been thinking that myself, if they've already got it working on the tab then should be easy for the SGS, but obviously more to it than that. I was also thinking that as the Tab is going to need Gingerbread to make the most of it, then it should be straight forward to get it onto the SGS, but doesn't seem like this is the case.
