Hi
I received my Galaxy S yesterday - and so far I'm impressed. However - one thing really, really, really annoys me.
Text message notifications. When receiving a text I get a little icon in the top left corner. I pull it down - told I have a text. I click on the notification and I'm taken to the text message in a speech bubble.
I reply to the message.. and click the home button to return to the home screen - however, the little mail notification icon still sits in the top left.
..so I open it again - click on the notification - get taken to the text message bubble. I then click on the bubble - and only when I click on the bubble will the notification clear.
I think (and this is my professional opinion - I design UI for a living.. so appreciate that good design is difficult) the notification should clear the moment you're taken to the message.. you shouldn't have to double click the message and be taken to a new screen in order to clear it. Also - from this new screen there is no ability to reply.. you have to go back to the bubble screen in order to reply.
This just seems really backwards to me.. its one of those things that really irritates me..
Does anyone know a way to invoke my preferred behaviour? It may be that I'm using it incorrectly.
Thanks,
Rob
