    Angry Gps problem!

    Hi all

i am having a problem with my GPS and after a little bit of research i have noticed this to be a common fault with other users

i have recently got the navigon app for use in my car but its quite annoying as my GPS is needed for this

EVERYTIME i go on start navigate it comes up with GPS reception is currently not sufficient navigation starts automatically as soon as GPS reception is ok again
    but it never starts ever

as you can imagine this is really annoying as the app is no use without the gps

hopefully someone on here has had similar problems and maybe found a fix

fingers crossed someone has some answers

    thanks for listening

The 2 FROYO beta releases seem to have fixes for the GPS embedded so when the official FROYO is released all should be fine. I though have never had a problem with my GPS, I get lock within 20-30 seconds between 8 & 11 satellites and an accuracy of less that 16ft which is comparable, if not better than my Garmin.

And here's me thinking that I was the only one who's GPS works!

I get accuracy to 10 meters (sometimes 5!) and it never fails to get a quick lock on at least 6 sats (about 10 - 20 secs usually).

I often go for random walks with my dog and use Google My Tracks to log it, when I get home I upload the data and discover all kinds of useless info about my travels

To Answer your question Jarney, try a newer firmware from http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm Try the one that ends in JM8 - probably the most stable eclair firmware or if you want to be a little more experimental, Try JPH for the Froyo goodness. It has a few issues here and there but it's still pretty good.
