sms name lookup?

Hi

quick q. When i try to compose a new txt msg. I type in the name and i get a list from my contacts. But also it comes up with numbers. Eg if you type mum it comes up 686.
Anyone know if you can turn this off. Its obviously translating the letters into numbers but its annoying can u turn it off somehow? ??

You can't turn it off.

You can use Handcent SMS. As far as I know, there is no such problem there
