Individual tones

I have done the tone for ringtone, but the tone for the sms and email is the same.
if i turn of email sound i don;t get the sms tone.
What am i doing wrong?

SMS = Messaging > Menu button > Settings > Scroll to the bottom and press Select ringtone under Notification settings
Email = Google Mail > Settings > Scroll to the bottom and press Select ringtone under Notification settings

Thanks yes i did that but still got the same problem as in the op.
I used sms pop up and it assigned different tones to each with no duplicates.

I used the way i suggested to you, and my email + sms ringtone is entirely different. Either you are doing it wrongly, or I am just not understanding you sorry.

Just tried again the way you suggested, and it now works, really confused but it's sorted now.
