Help needed in changing the phone version

Hi,

Newbie here... Really need help. I just bought the samsung galaxy phone and found out that I got the Korean version. I got a korean text input, lots of korean apps, and korean ring tones. Is there a way to change the version of the phone to like an all english one?

Hope someone could help me. Not that really technical so please just use simple terms

Open the dialer, dial *#1234# like you would dial a normal telephone number

What does it say?

It says:

PDA: M110S.DG23.1409

PHONE: M110S.DG24.0131.ST

H/W: REV0.8

MOVINAND: DF29

Wow, that looks weird. Never seen info like that from one before. Somewhere you should have something like I9000XXJM1

The above is the Country and Launguage version then the Year the month and version number. I thought all cross country firmwares used this method of coding.

But then again after looking about maybe not. The latest korean firmware is DH09 so the MOVINAND must be the version.

Hopefully someone here can help you, I remember trying to change the firmware on a chinaphone for a friend with no luck, hope you have better luck that me.

Oh and the korean phone is the Samsung SHW-M110S varient of the SGS just to make it possibly easier for you.

You need to go on some Korean forums to get help with your phone I believe.

I'm not sure that you can flash European firmware on a M110S, and I don't want to be responsible for helping you brick your phone...

Mind if I ask why you bought a Korean version? Or was it by accident?

Well, its not released here yet (philippines). I've asked samsung and they told me that they still dont know when it will be released here. So I bought one from a seller in ebay but I didnt know it uses the korean firmware...

Check xda-developers.com in the forums, I have the same Galaxy S (Anycall shw-m110s) and I have rooted it, unlocked it, erased the korean bloatware and put pretty much everything in English with the help of xda and many other sites. By the way you will need samsung kies to download new firmwares
