Water damage - Phone displays galaxy screen and thats it. Reflash?

Let it dry out for a few days...

Powers up as soon as battery is inserted rather than power button. :-(

Displays Samsung Galaxy, goes blank repeats. If I insert battery while holding vol down/home it displays a strange android triangle icon with downloading....

Just wondered how I can try to reflash this to fix the problem?

    Or any other suggestions?

As long as your phone can start, I don't think they will notice if you not tell

Powers up as soon as battery is inserted rather than power button. :-(
To go into download mode, you need hold volumne down, home button and power, it sounds like the buttons is contacting the board, perhaps not dry enough?

It might be too late for this, but you should use a desiccant to wick away any leftover moisture. The most convenient choice is uncooked rice. Just leave the phone (and its disconnected battery) submerged in a bowl of rice overnight.

So theres no circumstance where the phone starts on its own when the battery is inserted?

My phone only ever starts when I press and hold the power button for a few seconds. Does it power up immediately on inserting the battery or after a few seconds - may be the power button stuck/water ingress? If you can access compressed air it might be worth giving it a blow - might help remove any moisture in those hard to reach places and remove any rice dust in there

Im beginning to wonder that button might be stuck/wet. Yes - starts when battery is inserted.

Wonder if this is why it appears to be constantly restarting? i.e. the power button being on permanently is causing it to reboot.
